On the grounds of Hemingway's estate, he grouped together the neighborhood kids to play baseball - he would often pitch. Blas Mesa, one of the original GiGi Stars recounts that sometimes Papa, as they called him, would pull through the gates in his car (driven by his driver) arriving back home and even before entering the house, he would get out and play ball with the kids. 

 

Still to this day, the new generation of players of the GiGi Stars baseball team practice and compete. Bring a few baseballs - they are invaluable gifts to the league.
